They actually have two debut dates/performances.
1. 2007 August 2nd
This was the date of their 'unofficial' first performance. They performed on the Mnet School of Rock (you could watch a documentary that shows how they prepared for this stage: called Mnet Girls Go To School)

2. 2007 August 5th
This was the date of their 'official' first performance. They performed on SBS Inkigayo (see related link below for video).

So I guess their 'first' stage was August 2nd, but I think their official 'debut' date is August 5th :p

Although Yoona was the first to be chosen, Sooyoung has the most leadership skills, and Hyoyeon is the cleanest and best cook, Taeyeon is the leader. This is due to SM's strict rule that in each group, the eldest is is the leader. Even though Taeyeon is very independent and timid, she does her best to lead her younger members.

Tiffany had the most surgery in Girls' Generation, Yuri had double eye-lid surgery and Yoona had something done to her belly button. Sunny, Sooyoung, Tiffany and Seohyun have definatly had some sort of lip enhancement surgery, and several other members have likely had the procedure. Sooyoung has quite obviously had cheek implants.
