Why should one search for hidden, difficult meanings in a painting? Isn't this picture very straightforward in showing how love has captured this very young couple, making them forget what has been important to them? They no longer pay attention to the little dog or the fishing gear.

Approximately 15 or more years ago visited the new Norman Rockwell museum and asked a clerk to check the value of a signed print of Main Street Stockbridge. At that time he looked it up in a catalog and told me the value was currently $5,000. I purchased the print at the old museum in 1972 for $2. At that time also saw the artist riding his bicycle through the village.

Any value to a 1970D quarter?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

25 cents. 1970 quarters are still in circulation and are not rare.

The only ones that are worth any significant premium are quality uncirculated ones. As of 05/2010 prices range from about $1 for lower-quality uncirculated coins to perhaps $30-50 at the high end.

25 cents if in circulated condition, a bit more if the coin is proof or uncirculated. They contain no precious metals and are common finds in pocket change.

They are worth a minimum of $2 and if in perfect condition $8 and up. Depends on the buyer. (for this specific 1970 US quarter)

What was Norman Rockwell's first Post cover?

Boy with Baby Carriage or Salutation The picture shows three young boys on a Sunday afternoon. Two boys are off to play baseball. They are dressed in baseball uniforms with baseball caps and baseball gloves. Both are making goofy faces and gestures to the third boy. The third boy, dressed in his Sunday best clothes, has his baby sister in a baby carriage taking a stroll. He also has a baby bottle in his breast pocket. He looks livid about the other boys' demeaning gestures. Boy with Baby Carriage was only one of 322 of Norman Rockwell Saturday Eveninbg Post covers.

Judging by the way his hat strap is flying backwards, the third boy is pushing the stroller past his tormentors as fast as he can! When he was painting the three boys in this illustration, Rockwell only used one model, Billy Paine. Billy was Rockwell's favorite model for many years. He appeared in many of Rockwell's works.

The set of 13 Norman Rockwell paintings commissioned by Sharon Steel were in the possession of Victor Posner at the time Sharon Steel went into Bankruptcy.
