You might want to check your lambda sensor, or distributor. Take it to a garage if you are unsure.
Because it has a flat battery you donut

you cannot use a diesel gearbox with a petrol engine, u will crack and warp the head.. there no ay you can combine the two ..... i know why you want to dou this, bacuse the 1.9 d is expensive right lol. i can suggest you transfer the engine either because the car is diesel its just wont work soz mate ...
when i turn the ignition key i jus hear a click noise coming from the engine. any body have any ideas of what it could be ? and well it wont accelarate and go anywhere .. ?
There could be many reasons why a car won't start in the morning. It might be a problem with a cold start, but it could be the battery isn't connected all the way, or the lack of gas.
It is telling you that you have run out of petrol. Put petrol in the tank and this warning light will go out.
Appart from the obvious spark plugs or ht leads, I have read on forums that there are problems with the ECU and this needs replacing. I would go to a Fiat dealer and see if you can get a trouble code. Suspect the crank pos. sensor...There are ways to check them on the car....But I'm not going to write an article tonight..but search....you wont be disappointed. You will need a LED test light... $3 @ Radio Shack....and a neddle to pierce the wires at the ignition control module.
Punto electric power steering is very effective . I would say its too effective you can steer with one finger. Without PS you will have to put in a lot of effort, especially when parking. With the PS option you should have abutton on the dash somewhere which says 'City' This when pressed makes the steering dangerously light Hope this helps Normally a Punto of that age wont have "City" mode however i cant be certain, your steering will ALWAYS feel heavier when your near enough stopped or moving slowly. It is like this is every car. If a Red steering wheel is displayed on your dashboard then this means the "city" option will not work.
call a garage
Behind the handbrake lever there is an ashtray Take out ash tray Losen off smallbolt (3mm alen key) and you will see adjuster nut Ensure your car is on flat ground and wont roll away Release handbrake and tighten up adjuster nut till you get around 3 or 4 clics when you pull the lever up Check you have not adjusted to much by putting in first gear and lift clutch to just past biting and feel for back brakes sticking on Hope this helps G
If the engine is back firing through the single point injection unit this suggests the timing is out, not a problem as the cylinder head is a 'safe' head sothe valves dont come into contact wth the pistons. The other thing is do you have a spark? easiest way to test is pull a spark plug lead off and turn over the engne and listen for a ticking noise or a spark if nothing present the coil pack could be down, another quick check is when you turn the ignition key to 'mar' can you hear the fuel pump buzz? if not check the fuses and go from there, hope this id of use.
this wont ? why
