Sounds like it's cold where you are. The term is hoar frost. Knock the frost off with the furnace turned off. Check the pipe where the furnace exausts. You may need to extend it a bit to keek it from recycling to the intake. If you extend it, insulate it also. If it is caused by snowfall being sucked into the air intake, consider increasing the size of the pipe with a bell reducer. This in effect reduces the velocity of the air. In worst case situations I have used a "T" after the increaser and then two 90's pointing downward. lc

How do you light a pilot for a HVAC?

if it's a 90 % furnace you may have a flue or intake air problem or a bad pressure switch make sure you are venting the flue gases and the fresh air intake is clear

Does an electric furnace need an outside air intake?

No, an electric furnace does not need an outside air intake. For oil and gas furnaces an air supply is needed. It is called combustion air. It is needed for complete combustion of the fuel and not use the heated air that is in the house. Today's homes are built as a sealed unit to stop infiltration air from leaking in and costing the home owner more money to heat the home. Many installations use a motorized damper that cuts off the air supply when the furnace is not operating. This prevents a draft through the vent from the outside of the house when other extracting devices are operating.

Why is furnace blowing cold air?

If it's blowing intake-temperature air, either you've got the fan alone switched on or the heating part isn't working for some reason. If it's a gas furnace, the pilot light may have gone out, or the gas may be shut off somewhere (at the furnace itself, at the emergency shutoff for the house, or possibly at the main inlet). If it's blowing actually COLD air (colder than intake), then you've probably got central air and you've somehow managed to turn on the air conditioner.

What is the pur pose of Air handling unit?

A "gas furnace" is called a furnace, an "electric furnace" is called an Air Handler

Is it OK to convert your high efficiency furnace from its now inside air intake to start getting the intake air from the outside?

Yes, most if not all 90+ efficient furnaces are designed to take primary or combustion air from outdoors. That is partly where they get their high efficiency rating from. They are not using air that has already been heated for combustion.

What is wrong if a Ruud furnace has cold air coming out of the furnace filter area?

Is there a flame in the furnace. Precisely where is this air coming from and how strong is it?

What about the furnace filter arrow for air sent out of furnace?

the arrow points in the direction of air flow.

Where is air filter located on central ac?

it's the same as the furnace filter. the air conditioner runs through the furnace to push he cold air. change your furnace filter and you are changing the air filter on the air conditioner

Is there any reason not duct the air intake from a natural gas furnace to the exterior you live in Wisconsin and it is a new install?

No, it is preferable to use outdoor air which is then expelled rather than blowing indoor air out so new cold air replaces it.
