I have a 2.0 1995 Mercury Mystique the battery charge light was on no output on old alternator. Replaced alternator No output from new alternator "charge light out" (wiggle test wires& re-check wires) at alternator *still no output* is there a fuse that could be the problem or just another bad alternator...
I would check the alternator plug before getting another alternator, it may be bad. And is a lot cheaper to replace.
under the left side dash and under hood by battery
( # 27 ) is a 15 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter in a 1997 Mercury Mystique ( under the dash )
It's on the fuse panel under the right side of the dash.
Take a continuity tester and check them. you'll find the bad one
were is the fuse box located on MERCURY MYSTIC 96
There isn't any fuse then is linked to the alternator on a 1996 Mercury cougar. The alternator has an internal regulator, but does not have a fuse.
On a 1998 Mercury Mystique ( for example ) In the passenger compartment fuse panel : Fuse # 21 is an orange colored 40 amp fuse for the power windows
IN the Middle!¬
The passenger compartment fuse panel is located on the driver
The fuel pump fuse for a 1998 Mercury Mystique is located in the main fuse panel near the hood release. It prevents the fuel circuit from being overloading and damaging the pump.
