Well, there are many different catergories of creatures, all different in a way. But ill just narrow them down to mammals and cold bloods for now. Cold bloods carry a great many differences from mammals. The mammals usually have pouches, and most of them, except for the echidna and the also-australian platypus, do not lay eggs. The echidna and the platypus are named, monotremes, being the only two mammals that lay eggs. Cold bloods, on the other hand, lay eggs.
Mammals have sweat glands and hair. This is another difference. Mammals will usually have fur, or hair, like the humans, and sweat naturally, or get cold naturally. (Mind you, there are no such things as shiver glands!) While, cold blooded creatures have to move to place to place to get warm.
If a reptile gets to cold, their body will freeze, kind of like dying, but they are not really dead. Think of it as unwilling hibernation... If this happens to your pet turtle, make sure you place him in front of a slowly warming heater!
Reptiles, like mammals, are still allowed to have skin, though it would be rather queer to see a mammal with scales! Alll reptiles are cold blooded.
