When you use longitude and latitude it makes it much, much easier to find an

specific place.First, you look for the longitude and then the latitude and then

you run your both fingers down the line until they both meet each other and

that's when you find your place or city that you where looking for.

==============================

By taking a ruler and making one measurement up from the floor and one

measurement from the corner of the room, you can come up with two numbers

that exactly describe the location of any point on the entire wall.

By doing exactly the same thing on the globe, you can come up with two numbers

that exactly describe the location of any point on the entire Earth. You just have to

know where each measurement starts from. And the rulers are printed right there

on the globe for you.

Exactly the same way that the street signs and the numbers on the buildings

help you locate a place in a city.

-- You look at the street-name/longitude, then at a map, and you know

how far east or west to go to find it.

-- Then you look at the address/latitude, and you know how far north

or south to go to find it.

-- The system of street names and addresses is different in every city,

and often in different parts of the same city.

-- The system of latitude and longitude is the same everywhere on Earth,

and it uses nothing but numbers everywhere.
