After being mixed with water, OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover breaks down into water, oxygen, soda ash. There are no toxic fumes. OxiClean® will do no harm to our lakes and streams, and will have no effect on your septic system. The product is diluted considerably by the time it reaches the septic system that it will not affect the overall pH of the septic system. Hope this helps.
