This is an extremely tough question to answer. Some men may appear to have gay tendencies, but I know longshoremen (good looking muscular guys) that I would never have known were gay if I hadn't been introduced to them by one of my gay friends. Some men will have feminine qualities such as the way their poise their bodies and certain gestures. Women who are gay are particularly hard to single out unless they choose to dress in masculine clothing.
If you have a friend you suspect is gay then just enjoy the friendship and if and when they choose to trust you with this extra information be ready for it. I have several gay friends and to tell you the truth they are more loyal and caring to me than many of my straight friends. I love a good mixture of friends such as different cultures and people from different walks of life (criminals excluded of course. LOL)
It doesn't matter if your friend is gay or not and should have nothing to do with your friendship whether you are a male or female. Men seem to have a problem if he suspects one of his buddies are gay because of the reprocussions from his other male friends. Men need to be men and stand up for that friend if he should turn out to be gay. Gay does not rub off on straight people! There are many gay jocks out there and gay people are in every area of life and many are successful in many things in this world.
Be aware of how you word anything if you are wondering about your friend being gay. What does it matter if this friend is gay or not? What's the big deal? If it's just curiosity on your part don't risk the possibility of hurting this person and losing out on a good friendship. Be loyal to ANY of your friends whether they are gay or not.
What I look at is the heart and soul of that person and the rest is trimming and I suggest you do the same thing.
