turn the key to run (not start) 2 times with in 5 seconds and watch the odometer
Most vehicles after 1995 incorporate the OBDII system and you have to use a scanner to retreive the codes. However, there are auto parts stores such as Auto Zone that will scan it for you ay no charge.
You can't, you must use a scanner.
The engine doesn't need to be running. Just turn on the keyswitch with the code scanner connected.
It means you have a malfunction in the cars engine. If it blinks stop ASAP!.. You need a scanner to pull the codes to get to what exactly is wrong
That is not a valid code number, it should be a "P" followed by four numbers. example P0123
I am sorry but you do not without the proper equipment.
What does a engine scanner look like
Trouble code P0340 means: Camshaft position sensor "A" circuit malfunction (Bank 1)
Trouble code P0320 means:Ignition/distibutor engine speed input circuit malfunction. and you can use the Ford obd scanner to repair, you can DIY, it is easy.
A lot of parts stores will check it for free
The check engine light (malfunction light) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
That requires an engine scanner to set the timing on that engine. The timing is computer controled.
