It depends on what is causing the stomach acid reflux problem.

Lose a few pounds of weight.

Reduce the amount of food you eat. Most people in western countries eat too much. If you eat less food, your stomach generates less acid to re-flux.

Remove certain foods from your diet: different people are affected by different foods. Heart burn can result from fatty foods, fried foods, carbohydrates. Most likely it is the food you like best that you consume in large amounts so it comes back to eating less.

If none of this helps, there are various medications you can use to get rid of excess stomach acid or reduce the amount of acid being generated. Many are over the counter available without a prescription. Ask your druggist/pharmacist/apothecary.

See a doctor. If it is caused by bacteria, it is treatable and maybe curable. If you have a raised bump somewhere around your belly button, it could be a hiatal hernia and treating it may help.

In any case, it should not be ignored. Over a period of time, it can erode your esophagus (food pipe) resulting in a hole in the esophagus requiring hospitalization and surgery. It can also result in cancer.
