There are chemicals that are said to make one voluble, and of course there are methods of lie detection that measure minute differences in heart rate and sweat production, but none of it is guaranteed and is not admissable in court.
You could perhaps read up on body language, and get tips from the tv show "Lie to Me"... though I'm not sure the show is anything more than fantasy. Basically you must be very, very perceptive, and familiar enough with the subject to spot minute variances in behavior. An interesting field of study.

If you trust your sister-in-law and you know she is not lying you should pay attention. If you don't believe her look her in the eye when she is talking to you. you should be able to tell if she is lying. i mean, she is the persons sister.

YES, the older brother/sister gets to be the boss no matter the circumstances. The younger brother/sister always have to listen to the older one. If they tell you to get of the sofa, the younger has to leave no matter what.
Most children in a family go through difficult times growing up together and it can include physically fighting; lying or simply not liking each other. As the siblings grow older and mature these memories are more than likely to be brought up and laughed about, but when minors go through this with their siblings it is difficult to handle. It is up to the parents to figure out who is lying. Talk to your parents and tell them that you are getting frustrated over your sister's lying.
