It doesn't. 1970 was the last year the US mint made half dollars for circulation in silver (halves dated 1964 and prior are 90% silver, those dated 1965-1970 are 40% silver). No 1971 half dollars are struck in silver.
It is. All half dollars made in 1964 and earlier are 90% silver.
(This applies to silver, I'm not sure about gold.) If you are wearing a fake silver ring, after wearing it for about half an hour you will see that your finger where the ring has been has gone a bit green. It will eventually go back to it's original colour though. Also if you go to any shop which sells real gold and silver they should be able to tell you if it is real or not.
it cant be really know unless you are in the silver mines
It's easy to tell 1972 Ike dollars apart. If it has no mint mark or a D above the date, it's made of copper-nickel and is worth face value to maybe $1.25 in circulated condition. If it has an S mint mark it's made of 40% clad silver and might be worth about $7, mostly for its silver content. Some other years saw more varieties, but even so they're still simple to tell apart. The silver issues are lighter in color than the copper-nickel ones. Also the edge on a copper-nickel dollar will plainly show its copper color, while the edge on a silver-clad coin will be somewhat grayish.
Don't know
His currency was the half dollar or know as the silver dollar.
Please turn your coin over and look at the denomination on the back. JFK is on the half dollar, not the dollar or quarter.Plus, all circulating half dollars dated 1971 and later were struck in cupronickel, not silver. Look at the edge. You can see the copper core quite clearly.
It is. All half dollars made in 1964 and earlier are 90% silver.
Need to know the coins date, post new question.
Please recompose your inquiry to include exactly what you desire to know about the coin.
Depends on what you want to know for. Some collectors will pay more than the $15 you could get for the silver content. Technically the silver dollar is worth about $30, but not many will pay that much. Might be an anomaly on it somewhere which raises value. If you're talking about the Kennedy half dollar, it is worth half as much for the silver value, maybe 3/4ths of the silver dollar. Not worth much to a collector.
yes i have 1895 cc Morgan silver dollar.
do you know how much money a silver 1872 dollar coin is and a 1922 silver dollar coin
In order to give an estimated value for a coin, it is necessary to know the denomination of the coin. [For example: one dollar, half dollar, quarter dollar etc.]
90%-silver half dollars were minted from 1794 to 1964 at 5 different mints so that's an extremely broad question. You need to know the coins' dates and mint marks before you can determine how much they're worth. Check a site such as www.numismedia.com for more information on values, and www.coinfacts.com for pictures and mint mark locations. If you have half dollar coins dated 1965 to 1969 they are made of 40% silver and are worth a couple of bucks for their metal content.Half dollars minted in 1971 and later are made of cupronickel and are only worth 50¢
There's no such thing as a 1907 walking liberty dollar. For starters, there were no silver dollars minted from the years 1905 to 1920. Secondly, the walking liberty design was featured on the HALF dollar, but not until 1916.
Don't know what you have, but it's not a U.S. Mint dollar.
