Well, Croatia is small country but rich in variety of landscapes and geographical differences. There is a lot to talk about this because I should start with several centuries ago and Croatian history under foreign rulers (since 1 100 AC) .South and south-west Croatia is on Adriatic cost, in the north there are mostly plains. There are three dialects depending on region Croats live. There is also difference in mentality. North was under Austrian/German influence and governed for a really long time, while south was mostly under influence of Italy (starting with the Romans...following reinesscance)... throughout centuries we had wars with Ottoman Empire and borders from 2-3 centuries ago still exist as borders between us and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
