Nikola Tesla worked for Edison making the Edison Direct currrent machine workable because Edison and his scientists could not make it work properly. Edison was not good to his word and negleted the promise money he offered. Nikola parted his way and now we have his inventions.

Edison had no ethics. He offered royalties and never pay them. If you need to get information on Edison, try another category.

Thomas Edison trys light bulb?

Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yes he was afraid of the dark but Edison did not actually invent the light bulb... it was designed somewhere in the UK by Nicola Tesla. Edison refined his design to create 'the modern light bulb' ... :)!

Why was Tesla's AC system chosen over Edisons DC system?

Edison system was the cause of many house fires and it required a lot of stations. Teslas system was more potent and could carry electricity for miles. Even bulbs we use today were invented by him. The first things we have to know about bulbs lights is that Edison did not invent those, but only improve them by filling them with copper linings of metals. The second thing is that the Edison patent is outlawed in many countries including the United States and the patent used is the Tesla patent 455,069, dated June 30, 1891. In the Tesla bulbs, the union was better and never had a case of one catching fire like the Edison bulbs. He also made them to allow them to turn on wirelessly.

What were Nikola Tesla's interests?

His was interested in electricity. Tesla changed the way the whole world lives. He invented the alternate current system for producing electrify to the whole world. All wireless units have the base in the Tesla coil. Even bulbs we use today were invented by him. Tesla hypothesized that he could transmit unlimited amounts of power to any place on earth with virtually no loss. The first 'Magnifier' was assembled in New York City between 1895 to 1898. In 1899 a larger magnifier was constructed in Colorado Springs, Colorado with the patent "System of Electric Lighting," U.S. Patent 454,622, 23 June 1891. Tesla spent his remaining funds on his other inventions and culminated his efforts in a major breakthrough in 1899 at Colorado Springs by transmitting 100 million volts of high-frequency electric power wirelessly over a distance of 26 miles at which he lit up a bank of 200 light bulbs and ran one electric motor! With this souped up version of his Tesla coil, Tesla claimed that only 5% of the transmitted energy was lost in the process.

Did Thomas Edison have a mentor?

Yes, but I dont know who.

How did Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla know each other?

Nikola Tesla came to the United States in 1884 with an introduction letter from Charles Batchelor to Thomas Edison: "I know two great men," wrote Batchelor, "one is you and the other is this young man." Tesla spent the next 59 years of his productive life living in New York. Tesla set about improving Edison's line of dynamos while working in Edison's lab in New Jersey. It was here that his divergence of opinion with Edison over direct current versus alternating current began. This disagreement climaxed in the war of the currents as Edison fought a losing battle to protect his investment in direct current equipment and facilities.

What did nikola tesla do in the US?

Invented AC current, dug ditches because he didn't want to work for Thomas Edison, you know what every other American did back then.

Did Nikola Tesla help any other scientists?

Tesla is now credited with inventing modern radio as well; since the Supreme Court overturned Guglielmo Marconi's patent in 1943 in favor of Nikola Tesla's earlier patents. When an engineer once said to Tesla, "Looks as if Marconi got the jump on you" regarding Marconi's radio system, Tesla replied, "Marconi is a good fellow. Let him continue. He is using seventeen of my patents." Edison hired Tesla to work for his Edison Machine Works. Tesla's work for Edison began with simple electrical engineering and quickly progressed to solving some of the company's most difficult problems. Tesla was even offered the task of completely redesigning the Edison company's direct current generators. Tesla claims he was offered US$50,00 if he redesigned Edison's inefficient motor and generators, making an improvement in both service and economy. In 1885 when Tesla inquired about the payment for his work, Edison replied, "Tesla, you don't understand our American humor," thus breaking his word. Earning US$18 per week, Tesla would have had to work for 53 years to earn the amount he was promised. The offer was equal to the initial capital of the company. Tesla immediately resigned when he was refused a raise to US$25 per week.

Did Nikola Tesla invented the neon lights?

yes Nikola Tesla invented the first efficent light bulb for fear that the company couldnt cash up on it he never released it to the public, Thomas Edison actually took the light bulb design from Tesla, Thomas Edisons light bulb was based of Tesla's. (not insulting Thomas Edison or anything) i dont know anyone who knows when Tesla invented this light bulb cause he was paranoid dates were classified to him.

What stopped Tesla and Edison from being rivals?

At first they were friends then they hate each other and Tesla is totally rad!!!!!!!!! Tesla believed in science for the sake of science, and did not bother with any sort of politics. He died poor and alone. Edison had a workshop of inventors working under him, all of whose inventions were filed under Edison's name. He was well off from his inventions. They could be considered rivals, in that Tesla invented Alternating Current and Edison supported Direct Current, two technologies that were at the time competing for dominance (AC won out in the end though Tesla received no benefit from it)

Who was the inventor of fluorescent lamps and alternating current?

Nicola Tesla invented AC for George Westinghouse. Don't know about the fluorescent lighting, but I prefer Tesla's alternating current and Thomas Edison's incandescent light bulb.

Why did thomas Edison invent the electric chair?

Thomas Edison didn't actually invent the electric chair but, paid Harold P. Brown to. It was invented because Thomas Edison's competitor Nikola Tesla had AC electricty (Edison had DC) and AC was cheaper but, more dangerous. Thomas Edison wanted people to know this (so more people would choose his over Tesla's) so he had it made and electrocuted William Kemmler (who had chopped up his wife and was sent to perison). this was called the war of currents

How do Nikola Tesla and Franklin Roosevelt know each other?

The Electrical Engineering currilum ar Columbia Universtity is the most respected programs in the world. Roosvelt attended Columbia law school. Tesla gave numerous lectures there.

Why is Nikola Tesla's lab on long island NY for sale?

Most of the people doesn't know who Nikola Tesla was since Edison spent his life trying to forbid his name from history. But there are persons that think that his lab should be kept in history as a museum.

Did any one else help Thomas Edison?

Yes, a lot of people did. Those people were his workers and few other famous people. He also stole ideas from alot of People, for instance, Nikola Tesla, and the Lumiere Brothers. (these are just the ones I know about)

Was nikola Tesla censored?

He was not censored. When he came in 1884, he began working for Edison who offered him $50,000 to fix a problem that Edison had with his direct current system. After Tesla fixed the problem, Edison was not a man of his word and didn't pay him. Tesla walked out and in a matter of time, produced the system the whole world was going to use which was the ac system. Edison worked all his live trying to keep the name Nikola Tesla forgotten. But Tesla changed the way the whole world lives. He invented the alternate current system for producing electrify to the whole world. All wireless units have the base in the Tesla coil.
