You have to understand, Marc Antony was more like a son and companion to Caesar they had fought in two major wars together, with the help of Marc Antony, Julius Caesar was able to become permanent consul of Rome. I do not know if there can be a stronger bond between a father figure and his son, but if there is it was between these two. In saying that, you can imagine he was greatly horrified and saddened, but this was soon replaced with an unquenchable thirst for vengeance, which he had in the end.
