At the end of World War One, Germany had been forced to sign a treaty which blamed the Germans for starting the first world war and that they had to pay for all the damage that had been inflicted to countries involved with the war. The Treaty of Versailles caused massive loss of land and population to Germany, this included its very industrious region along side the Rhine land. Not only was loss of land taken from Germany but its Military was stripped down to the bare minimum a country could have, crippling once Germany's powerful army.
Hitler, who was a infantry soldier during the first world war believed that this was a horrific way to treat the German people and his hatred for the British and Allied forces to increase over the years after this treaty was in place. The League of Nations also relived Germany of its foreign colonies in Africa and the Pacific.
In violation of the Treaty of Versailles the German army moved in onto the Rhineland on on Saturday, March 7, 1936. These series of events would trigger the most violent international war since 1917.
These were the first moves of Hitlers campaign through Europe, Britain and France declared war on Germany during 1939 and USA declared war on Japan, Germany and its forces on 8th December 1941 after the destruction of Pearl Harbour.
