Zeus sought to wipe out the human race by creating a great flood that would destroy all of humanity. He did this in response to the increasing wickedness and corruption he saw among humans during the Bronze Age. Only Deucalion and Pyrrha were spared by Zeus, as they were deemed the most righteous and were able to repopulate the earth by throwing stones that transformed into humans.
