Reptiles have various ways to defend themselves. Some snakes mimic venomous snakes , some can inflate their bodies to look bigger, flatten their heads to look like a venomous snake. Turtles and lizards can bite. Most reptiles use their speed or camoflage to minimize confrontations with potential predators.

they camaflage them selves by putting there head in there shell and waite.

This is completely wrong. Sea turtles' shells are fused in such a way that it does not allow them to pull their heads or limbs inside their shells at all. Box turtles, other land tortoises, and aquatic turtles have the ability to pull their limbs inside, but sea turtles do not. They CAMOUFLAGE themselves with the coloration of their shells blending in with their surroundings. For instance, green turtles are found around sea grass beds. Their shells are colored in a sunburst pattern to look like the sea grass flowing in the currents.

Animals camouflage by growing patterns and colors that mimic or blend in with their background or appear like some lethal organism. A preying mantis, for example, looks much like a twig. Some frog adopt the coloration of poisonous frogs, even though they themselves are not poisonous. Some animals, such as the chameleon, can change their color to match their background.

Note: These changes are not generally under the direct control of the animal itself. Rather, animals that happen to have been born with slight camouflage color variations enjoy a slight selective advantage over those that do not. Thus these traits evolve over time.

Camouflaging is settling in an environment to blend in with its colors; like all other animals, reptiles have color, and many that fall prey easily camouflage. Like all other animals.
