They don't know what the actual time is, any more than you would without a watch. Like we do, we know it is day and night and roughly the time of year by the seasons, amount of daylight, weather etc. That is all they or even we need to know. It is only the human world that works on specific times for appointments etc.
Birds are very sensitive to light and daylength, so they look at the sun for time, and use daylength to keep track of the seasons.
Without same intelligence level/emotional capacity as humans, animals cannot perceive time in the same way
this would be hard to prove, but surely all animals will feel pain or ail sometimes in their life time
to make the animals happy

No animals do NOT feel pain. They are put on an anesthetic which causes temporary loss of bodily sensations.
Animals are only harmless if they don't feel threatened or feel in danger,if they feel that they are in danger then they protect themselves by warning you and if you don't listen and go away they will attack you.
