Best Answer

The two relate because both deal with the selling of alcohol. The old time bootlegger would sell alcohol when the liquor stores or bars were closed and people would like to continue to drink so off they go to find. the bootleger would have a supply on hand and sell it above the normal price and make a profit which was illegal then. Today alcohol can be bought anywhere, anyplace 7/24.

The speakeasy was a place like a bar or tavern where people drank illigally. This came about because of the banning of spirits of any kind back in the 1920's. This ban was only in place for 10 years. The speakeasys made a lot of money for the crimmal element. People like to drink and dance and have fun so they met at their favorite speakeasy.
