Camels usually "spit" when threatened. They will expel large amounts of mucus toward their enemy, causing difficulty breathing and/or a very nasty taste/texture in and around their mouth and nose. Ultimately, it distracts the enemy long enough for the camel to run away and be safe.

You did not specify what state you live in but you can still be helped. One national company is www.safelite.com. Safelite operates in most states and can file a claim with your insurance company so they can pay for the damages.

A camel is a very calm, slow moving animal. Camels are very mild mannered until you make them angry, in which they may spit.
