An organelle is a small structure within the cell. Here are some organelles of the cell and their function. -Cell wall-support, protection, allows water, oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass in and out of cell -Cell membrane-support, protection, controls movement of materials in and out of cell, barrier between cell and its environment, maintains homeostasis -Nucleus-controls cells activities -Nuclear membrane-controls movement of materials in and out of nucleus -Cytoplasm-supports and protects cell organelles -Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)-carries materials through cell -Ribosome-produces protein -Mitochondria-breaks down sugar molecules into energy -Vacuole-stores food, water, waste (plants must store large amounts) -Lysosome-breaks down larger food molecules into smaller food particles and digests old cell parts -Chloroplast-uses energy from sun to make food for the plant (photosynthesis) only in plants. As you can see each organelle is important to the cells survival. I hope this helped you out.

They have similar organelles. Both types also have to to a job to keep a larger organism alive.

The cell wall

What are the tiny structures within the cytoplasm of a cell called?

They are called organelles. There are many different types of organelles, each of which serve their own function and aid the cell in staying alive! Hope this helps you. (:

What does cytoplasm do in a plant cell?

The cytoplasm is the liquidy substance that is in between the cell membrane and the nucleus. It is known to contain vital organelles (organs) of a cell.

no everything in the cell except the nucleus is included in the cytoplasm cyto=cell and plasm= liquid

What role does the cell have in the plants survival?

Plant cells have organelles in them that keep the plant alive. Organelles such as vacuoles and chloroplasts produce food and store water for the plant. Mitochondria release food energy for the plant. Other organelles like the cell membrane and the cell wall protect the plant. The "boss" and "co-bosses" of the cell are called the nucleus and the chromosomes. These carry the DNA or genes for the plant. That is how plant cells are depended on for a plants survival.

These organelles are likened to a factory generator that produce energy to keep the cell going?

The mitochondria are the organelles that produce the energy for the cell and body. They are often called the power houses of the cell because of their function.
