Some mammals are oviparous (egg laying) mammals called monotremes, namely platypuses and echidnas -- the young are not born live but are nursed after they hatch.
Pouched mammals and placental mammals give birth to tiny young ones, so are called viviparous.

∙ 15y agoMost reptiles mating is similar to mammals, there are some lizard species that reproduce by parthenogenesis, that is they produce both sperm and egg and do not have a need for male & female. Research being done at this time seems to provide evedence that some other reptiles may reproduce this way also.

Actually, reptiles can also give birth to neonates - not just eggs. Such as boa's.

∙ 11y agoReptiles use internal fertilization and amphibians use external fertilization. Once the egg is out a reptile sits on it to fertilize amphibians though don't do this.
