they are coloured (duh). the yellow colour of them disguises them as the air sacs on fucus plants.

the smooth shell makes them look like the sacs. and the bright colour helps them disguise as an air sac, as it loks like the sun shining through the sacs on egg or bladder wrack. that is why they ive on these plants
