Most die in the winter, but release their seeds in the fall beforehand. Others lose their foliage on the outside, but use the energy created and stored during the spring and summer to say alive.

Changing your soil always helps it to have a longer and healthier life. However giving it water will not help because it will just suck all of it in and eventually dry up the soil so thats why you should re-new your soil every so often.

they go into a form called hibernation just like animals but they look like their dead they loose all their leaves as well
