If your mower is slipping while drive is engaged you may need to turn the adjusting nut at the cable entrance to the hand control. Turn the adjusting nut (cylinder) counterclockwise with a little crescent wrench. This makes the belt tighter. If this does not fix the problem then you will probably have to replace the belt and also the blade adapter and pulley. The pulley wears down with mower usage.
