depends what model you have and what year. Ive got a 2.0lRXE estate 1998 model and the engine has to be taken out for the cam to be changed. Also bear in mind that you might have to change the tensioners, wheels etc to make it a good job.

i have Reno laguna 2005 1.9dci model. i rang Renault garage and they say that they will charge 400 pounds. i also rang some local garages and they say round about 300 to 350 pounds. so u be better of going to the main Reno dealers for full piece of mind.

If the cambelt breaks it may bend the valves in the head depending on the car but 9 times out of 10 especially if diesel will do alot of damage and will be very costly. Change the cambelt its less costly...
