Best Answer

Substitute the word Fine with Pure. Pure in intention that is.

People who regard themselves as Fine Artists can work in any medium to any scale. They consider the expression of their creativity to be uppermost in importance. The product (the artwork itself) and it's final resting place or use are, in the eyes of the artist, inconsequential and perhaps even problematic in as much as the artist's purity of intention could be compromised.
