easy task.
on the top of the motor is the fuel filter.
on one side of the filter housing, is a small yelloer lever. turn this lever,(it will only turn one way). this will open the water/fuel seperator. the water and fuel will run out beneath the car
you do not need to prime the filter after doing this
just start the engine like you usaully would and the filter will self prime
Thanks but i have had a small leak from the area and it is not clear what direction the lever should be for opened or closed. Facing the engine (me), is the yellow lever open when turned left or up(toward firewall)? It currently is pointed toward me or the front of the truck. The 6 o'clock position. The 9 o'clock position means open? Thanks.
The separator is valve handle is on the firewall side of the fuel canister
will 1996 f250 rims fit a 1999 f250 bolt pattern
Driver side frame-rail. If it's 4wd the front driveline makes it a little harder to get to.
Should be located at the top rear section of engine - unscrew, remove and clean water separator
what model f250 diesel are you referring to the 7.3 powerstrokes have fuel filter on top of engine. 6 lit engines have filter lower down in fuel line, so it depends which model and which year the 2008 6.4 dual turbo has a pre-filter / water separator on the underside of the truck - under the driver side floor board. A second / final filter is on the top of the engine near the front. It is near the oil filter housing. Ford says to change the two at the same time. You should also drain out the water separator every month or so. (in particular in the winter when the colder weather can lead to condensation in the tanks / line) It has a lever to pull out and you only need to drain about a tablespoon of fuel get all of the water out.
You can find the ECU on a 1996 F250 behind the hood release lever. This is found on the firewall.Ê
its under the water pump
how to replace water pump on a 1999 chevy malibu 2.4
only way to drain tank on f250 is to a, syphon fuel and remove tank b, disconect fuel supply line at tank
Every other oil change, drain water valve once a month.
Under hood, center, upper engine area, passenger side, rear corner of engine, mounted inside water separator housing.
