Vinegar doesn't normally stain marble, it etches it. The only way to fix it at this point is to sand it out. It needs to be done professionally.

Is marble shiny?

Yes, marble is naturally shiny due to its smooth and reflective surface. However, the level of shine can vary depending on the finish applied to the marble, such as polished, honed, or matte finishes.

What is honed marble?

Honed marble is a more natural looking marble without the polished, mirror like finish. It is more porous than polished marble and is therefore not recommended for use in areas where staining may occur. Sealant companies may claim to be able to seal honed marble, but from what we have been able to discover, sealants only work for a temporary period.

Marble is a rock composed of calcite, a crystalline form of calcium carbonate. The word marble is from the Greek and refers to the shining, sparkling appearance of the stone. Many of the world's most famous sculptures are made of the prized white marbles, which are relatively soft and uniform in composition. Ground marble is used in products such as some papers and paints and in toothpaste (listed as calcium carbonate). Marble is porous; if untreated, oils will stain it easily. Can miracle finish be used on white stained kitchen cabinets?

Most certainly not. We used to produce a "white wash" finish. However, this form of finishing has dropped from popularity, and we stopped making the color about 8 years ago. Sorry about that. By the way, my father is the inventor of miracle finish, and have been using it on "garage sale finds," as well as some very fine antiques, since I was 11 years old.
