I have a 1996 Sebring Convert. There actually was a recall for this in 1996. The shifter could be placed into neutral without the benefit of having the key in the ignition. What they had to do was to replace the shifter assembly under the recall warranty. Check with a dealer to see if this recall is still active. Sometime they expire, then it's on you. If it is still an active recall, it should cost you nothing.
No.No.
I have a 97 Sebring convertible, my trunk will not open, I tried using the key and the remote, is there an emergency release cable anywhere else in the car?
You stick the key in the door and turn.
turn the key to the on position, depress the brake pedal and select neutral
The factory alarm can not be disabled. It can only be reset by unlocking the doors with the key or use the remote.
Unlock the doors or trunk with the key.
Turn the key in either door or trunk.
Try turning key to 1st (unlock) position without starting vehicle, then shift to neutral
the backseat.
you simply can't!
If the key is gray, then yes.
Remove the linkage off of the trans and shift it there.
