Nightmares are frightening or traumatizing dreams that are caused by Horror movies, some fears that you have been thinking about, or some traumatizing event that has happened or might happen. Sasha:When i want to get a nightmare out of my Head listen to music(pop or something upbeat) or watch something really funny.Think about funny moments you have had,or talk to a friend about it.
Nightmares happen to us all at sometime or other. Most are unpredictable. Relaxing with a non controversial book or film prior to going to bed often helps, as does taking a walk. If nightmares persist there may be some underlying psychological problem, in which case you may have to visit a doctor to address these issues.
Ok, Thank U First editor
Repetitive nightmares often indicate that there is something in your unconscious mind that seeks expression and it is getting this expression through your dreams. if there is something that is bothering you that you dont want to deal with conscously, it gets repressed or "forgotten" in consciousness and is stored in the unconscious part of your mind. it is advisable to see a psychologist or even talk to a friend about things that could be troubling you. sometimes writing things down helps as well.

This sounds serious, and something that you need to talk to someone about over a period of time. Memories serious enough to give you nightmares will finally fade, but they can be eased by talking through your feelings about these memories with a counsellor. And if that doesn't work, you may need to see a psychiatrist. First off, I would suggest that you go and talk to your family doctor.
For most dreamers, it is not possible to rouse oneself from a nightmare without prior preparation. If one is having nightly, or repetitive nightmares, one can form an intention before going to sleep. This could be a strong resolve to awaken when the troubling dream occurs, alerting the conscious mind to maintain a certain level of control through the sleep cycle. But in most cases we are not expecting the nightmare and so do not have the opportunity to prepare. In that case, the conscious mind is not able to take control of the dream from the subconscious mind, and the dream must run out to its natural conclusion.

The best thing to do when you have nightmares is to consider what they might be pointing out in your real life. Nightmares can be the very best sort of dreams, because they show us so much about ourselves. For example, nightmares about being chased by something scary are often relate to an actual problem that you are trying to avoid in real life. Nightmares about being naked in public illustrate your fear of having your faults revealed. Once you discover what the nightmare highlights in your real life, you can make good choices or take positive action to correct the problem. Once the problem is resolved, the nightmare will not recur. See the link attached below for more information and examples of nightmares.
It is not possible to forget a nightmare or any other memory in the same way you might delete a computer file or erase a recording. The human mind does not work that way. However, it is possible to "put it from your mind," in the sense of refusing to think about the nightmare. Whenever the nightmare appears in your thoughts, simply decide to think of something different: the chores that need done or the video you watched last week. By intentionally shifting your attention away from the nightmare, you prevent that subject from being deeply "etched" into your long-term memory. As you focus your attention on other things, the urge to think about the nightmare will gradually fade.
> In the classic movie, "Gone with the Wind," Scarlett O'Hara demonstrates this intentional method of banishing unwanted thoughts from her mind.
dont watch scary stuff and be positive. the rest kinda depends on ur religion
By having no stress at your job or wherever your working at. The more stress you have the worse the dream becomes and the worse they become the more likely you will get them.
Bad dreams usually reflect problems in the dreamer's real life. When one deals with the problem in the real world, the bad dreams usually go away.
