Four to five years later and I still think of my ex-fiancee. My best advice is to become involved in social activities where you meet other people. But do the following.....it does help.....time will do the rest for you.Get rid of all her things in your place you have that SEEM to make you think of her. Try to steer clear of places you went to with her that prompt really special memories. As mentioned before, time will help the memories to fade. It helps if you teach yourself NOT to dwell on all the possibilities of how things could have been if it had only worked out. Realize it is done and get on with life. We do not have the information as to the breakup. That being said, if there is no chance of reconciliation, unfortunately time is the only thing that will heal. Iniatially, it is a shock to the system and emotions distract us from rational though. It hurts and there is little you can do to bypass that hurt. However, it is like throwing a rubber ball against pavement. It will always bounce back. It may not bounce back in the same direction, but it will always bounce back. While it is not easy, you should take encouragement from that. There are many individuals out there who would love your company. Try to start dating. It will take the edge off. With each day that passes, you will see some improvement and the hurt will dissipate even if it is ever so slight. Keep busy and look forward to future relationships for there are many possibilities waiting out there for you.
