Before you get a guinea pig you need to have a good size enclosed cage, something for it to hide under like a box (in the cage), chaff, water fresh fruit and veg (look on internet most are deadly for them) and fresh dry hay in it's enclosure. You can find other sorts of bedding at a pet shop. It is important to clean the cage regually because if it is not dry they will get sick. They also should go out side for most of the day so they eat fresh grass and have access to sunlight. It is also VERY important to worm your guinea pigs or they will die. (i no from experience) you can buy wormer liquid from a pet shop, it isn't expensive. :)
