Hello, there is a free antivirus program you can download called add. It located and removed the Trojan without affecting the infected program.
If the virus is in your system volume information folder, you will need to allow your virus scan to access it. Check out theeldergeek.com, under system volume information folder, for info on access, then run your virus scan and allow it to isolate the Trojan horse.
Go to Start /Control Panel /Folder Options (click the View tab)and uncheck both the *Hide file extension for known file types & *Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)-boxes, then OK yourself out.
Then go to Start /Search /For Files or Folders option type up the NAME OF THE FILE & EXT (not downloader.wintrim.Q), but the actual name of the file, which would have shown up on your anti-virus software. Highlight the file and press Delete...make sure to empty your Recycle Bin.
I used AVG Free Edtion and it took it out. It was in two files. Wintrim.2.G and Wintrim.2.J was on my Computer.

AVG for windows seems to get rid of the downloader, but sometimes it comes back. i personally don't thonk you can get rid of them uless you are willing to do a full system restore. good luck!

IVE just updated my avg antivirus software and run it. It found downloader.briss and removed it to the virus vault.
Trojan downloader is I think spyware so get spyware doctor or a strong antivirus.
