In most vehicles, the turn signal automatically turns off when you straighten the steering wheel. In older or malfunctioning vehicles, though, you might have to manually flip the turn signal back to the neutral position.

there are 2 small tabs on the turn signal swith in side the steering colum. these turn the signal off when wheel is straightened after turning. if one or both are broken, signal will not turn off automatically
Remove the turn signal retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness. The turn signal will come off. Reverse the process to install the new turn signal.

You could be hitting the flash feature on the turn signal arm when you use it.
A car that shuts off when the turn signal is used indicates a major short in the electrical system. When the turn signal is used, it cause a massive draw on the power and shuts it down.
The turn signal cam is broken on the switch side. You need to replace the turn signal switch assembly.
