You can manufacture the transformer using larger guage wire to reduce resistance.
-----------
You have pointed out additional ways to improve efficiency. I don't really know which may reduce losses the most, but I2R losses have to be a significant contribution. Note that the question was "How do you (the mfg) increas the efficiency of a transformer NOT whether or not they are already doing it. The simple answer is that you increase the efficiency by modifying anything that reduces energy losses. I still believe the wire size would be a large contibutor in a steady state condition. --glennyD

To accommodate conductors with a larger cross-sectional area (guage), the core would have to be larger (increased mass) causing increased core losses. Maximum efficiency occurs when core losses and copper losses are the same.
nope
Transformer or instrument transformer. It can increase and decrease current output.
50000
Voltage and current.
You can use a transformer to increase the current. Note that this will also decrease the voltage. The total energy will not increase; it will decrease slightly, due to losses in the transformer.
current increase in series operatio and transformer will b damaged
A transformer can only increase or decrease the voltage of an alternating current, and it is called step-up transformer or step-down transformer accordingly.
in welding machine, the transformer used is basically a current transforrmer. so by changing the tap of secondary side of transformer, we can increase or decrease the current in the transformer.
A step-up transformer needs more turns on the secondary windings than on the primary windings to increase the voltage.
The device used to increase or decrease the voltage of an electric circuit is a step up transformer or a step down transformer respectively. A Variable Resistor
A step up transformer is used to step up an AC voltage
