Wrap the can in some insulating material. This could be a blanket, a towel, foam padding, bubble wrap, cotton stuffing, styrofoam, neoprene rubber, even newspaper. The better it is wrapped, the better insulated it will be. The more dead air space (in other words empty space inside the thing you're using to wrap the can) the better.
The best form of insulation is a vacuum, and that is how many thermoses are insulated. You can't use this unless you design a special can first however. Any of the items listed above can just be wrapped around any can (or anything else for that matter)
See the Web Links for more information about thermal insulation.
someone answer
yes it is fine to insulate the whole water heater from top to bottom and the first two meters of hot water outlet piping.
28 degrees above zero (Fahrenheit) for more than 4 hours will freeze your pipes, so insulate, insulate, insulate.
yes. they insulate
Yes, you should definitely insult it.
I do not know, i was hoping u would tell me!
there is no prefix of insulate because the root word is insulate
Gas water heaters are internally insulated, and need air flow to burn the gas off safely and correctly. There is no need to insulate them, in fact it would be very wrong to do so. Simply put pipe insulation on the exposed copper. Home depot has it in the plumbing section. Electric water heaters are different, and you can insulate them with a fitted sleeve sold at plumbing part shops, or most large hardware stores. be sure to insulate the copper as well.
It is a thermal jacket that fits over the tank to insulate it
I see no reason why you would insulate them. When you close your pool for winter you will purge (empty) your pump and pipes. The water in the pool would freeze long before the water will in the pipes under ground.
An insulator is a material that doesn't conduct heat or electricity. Here are some sentences.Cloth is a good insulator. You need to have an insulator to keep from getting electrocuted. We are studying an insulator in science class.
It doesn't insulate well.
