Well, my IAC just went bad on my ZX2. I've been having stalling problems for about a year intermittently but it started getting really bad. When the car is driving its fine, but when I stop at a light it completely stalls. It will start right back up but only stays running if I give it gas. I took it to a mechanic who ran a diagnostic. Even though the check engine light wasnt on he was able to tell that the IAC is bad. The part is $180 and the labor is about .5 hours. Hope this helps!

Once your out of idle the idle air control valve isn't used so it shouldn't affect the operation of the car once your moving

If the IAC was bad the car wouldn't run at idle or it would die when a load was put upon it.
