You must learn to play by ear. Learning to play sheet music is not an option. When you learn to play it can be useful to play along to midi files. There are lots of these available so you will learn to play in different keys according to the songs you have. You will play the melody part with the right hand and at first you should choose songs with a fairly slow tempo so that you can follow along. It is really a matter of playing the notes of the melody part of the song. as you learn more songs you will acquire your 'ear' for picking out the correct notes to play. And you will progress to more complex songs and your playing speed will increase. Try to play across different genres, eg: MOR, Soul, Motown, etc
