Yes, that is right. Except it all depends on the type of religion that you practice. Each religion has a different way to pray. Some ways to pray are indifferent from plain christian like catholics do the sign of the cross and islamic/buddism have idols before them as if they were servants.

Or incase you're talking about another religion... Jashinists like myself would trace the symbol of Lord Jashin in the air, wear the symbol, or draw it in the ground and stand at the center usually. Then, we would say something like this every night before sleep and once you were to awaken.
