It's very easy as the molarity and normality of NaOH is the same. so all you need to do is to decide how much (volume) of that you need.

the molar mass of NaOH is 40.5 gr, so 5 molar (normal) solution needs times five of that in 1 litre. 5*40.5=202.5

dissolve it in 1 liter water (be careful as the dissolving process is highly exothermic)

Now you have 1 litre of 5 normality NaOH.

It would depend on which unit you are going by: percent by mass (%(m/m)), percent by volume (%(v/v)), mass-volume percent (%(m/v)), molarity (M), etc... There are many ways to measure the concentration of a solution.

Percent by mass is the mass of solute in a solution divided by the total mass of solution, multiplied by 100.

Percent by volume is the volume of solute in a solution divided by the total volume of solution, multiplied by 100.

Mass-volume percent is the mass of solute in a solution divided by the total volume (in mL) of solution, multiplied by 100.

Molarity is the moles of solute in a solution divided by the liters of solution.

How to prepare 6N NaOH?

Hi, 6N NaOH = 6M NaOH 6M NaOH are 6 moles in 1L Mw (NaOH) = 39.88 gr/mole so: m = n x MW = 6 x 39.88 = 239.28 gr NaOH. :)

How can you prepare 0.02 N NaOH solution if i have .2N NaOH?

In order to make 0.02 N NaOH from 0.2 N NaOH, one needs to dilute it by 10 x (10 fold). Depending on the volume of 0.02 N NaOH needed, that will determine the volume of 0.2 N used. For example, to make 100 ml of 0.02 N NaOH, you would dilute 10 mls of 0.2 N to 100 ml. This is seen in the following calculation: (x ml)(0.2 N NaOH) = (100 ml) (0.02 N NaOH) and x = 10 ml

HOW TO 0.1N NaOH solution preparation?

to prepare 1N we have to dilute 40gms of NaOH in 1 litre of water as for NaOH normality =molarity so to prepare 0.1N NaOH we have to dilute 4gms of NaOH in 1 litre of water..

How will prepare 200ml of 10 percent NaOH Solution?

Dissolve 0.4 g of NaOH in 100 ml of water. Try it out. Actually it is not suitable to prepare NaOH solutions in standard flasks. It should be made in beakers & must be standardised..This is done to find the correct normality...
