In Japanese vowels are most comonly prononced like this;
A - sounds like a in father (but shorter),
E - sounds like e in met,
I - sounds like ee in meet (but shorter),
O - sounds like o in old,
U - sounds like oo in hook (but it is more accecptable to not round your lips when prononcing),
The syllables in words are all of equal length and strength (unless the vowel is repeated ''Yuu'', or ''Yū'', where the line on top means it lasts doble the length).
So you don't say MAN-GA-KA (or MAN-GA-KA, or even then MAN-GA-KA).
Therefore the pronuciation is: / m a n g a k a / (m-ah-n-g-ah-k-ah)
"Mahn-gah" is the correct pronunciation for manga. The emphasis is on the first syllable.
You pronounce the "Ma" like "Mah" and the "ga" as "gah".
Manga.
