Sorry, not me. I've just managed to make two sims WooHoo there, but no idea. Maybe it's just a decoration. :)
I KNOW. You have to have 2 floors, you place one elevator downstairs and one directly above it on the second floor, must be on top. Then it should work, it did on mine anyway. Hope i helped!

SOLUTION
Alright, can answer this one. Drove be nuts, too. For every floor that you want the elevator to open, you use the elevator, NOT the shaft. Place the first one on the ground level, or whatever floor you want to start from. You have to have the floor placed, and the walls. Next level, build the walls, and place some flooring inside. Yeah, seems weird, I know, but you can't place it without floor. Then place that elevator. Same for each level. That's all there is to it. The shaft is ONLY for going past a floor where you don't want the elevator to stop. Basically, the elevator is the doors, and the game fills in the car or something like that. So, actual elevator for every level you want it to open, and that WILL work. Know what a pain this can be, so hope this answer finds people that need it!

∙ 14y agoIt comes with Sims2 Apartment Life. There are different Expansion packs (tons of them) and each come with cool stuff. If you have Apartment Life, go to building and it may be under miscellaneous, or maybe not, but it shows an elevator and you can add that instead of stairs. CODES:
press down ctrl+shift+c - then a box will show up to type cheat codes in
motherlode - lots of money. type ctrl+shift+c then click the `~ button, then type motherlode, then hit the up key, then enter and continue to do this over and over again until you have a lot of money
maxmotives - fills your needs
aspirationlevel 300000 - fills your aspiration meter
aspirationpoints 300000 - unlcocks aspiration rewards
unlock careerrewards - unlocks career rewards (one includes changing your face structure)
help - list of stuff you may need
forcetwins - im not sure if this works, cuz i haven't used it in a long time, but I think when your sim is pregnant and you type this she will have twins. yep. cuz it worked for me.

∙ 13y agoYou have to go to Mrs. Bludsbee in 54 Elm for it to work, Only then can you place it. She will ask for 200000 similonions, but insted you can set her house on fire via asking her for food. Hope this helps! :-)
