Inside the handle of the blaster there is a piece that you can take off. Inside, there is slots for 2 AA batteries. This is where you put them in to power the blaster. If you don't have 2 AA batteries, the laser sight feature will not work.
theres a cap under the handle that u gotta unscrew
on the bottom their is a screw ner the trigger on that black part, unscrew that and their should be a batterie pack that slides out :)

Battery tray is usually located behind the blaster. You can put the battery in the tray and then you can use it.

It uses six D batteries and its totally worth it. The gun is awesome and you can win any Nerf duel it is so awesome!

Not without serious modification, if possible. Although both of them have racks on the top, those racks are meant to hold specific accessories (sights, flashlights, etc.) and not other nerf guns unless the other nerf gun has the other rack type. Although there is a small number of nerf guns that can attach to others, the maverick and night finder aren't meant to be combined. Both the maverick and night finder can attach to nerf guns with the opposite rack type, like the crossfire and scout. Just not to each other, since they both have the same rack type.
