No it wont. The point of System Restore is to restore your system to a workable state without you having to reinstall the operating system and lose your data files in the process.

You can if you take an iCloud backup instead of a local backup. You can log in to iCloud and I believe in the iPhone setup it will automatically restore a backup.

Yes. I've done it. The chipset has to be close though, and probably the same manufacturer. However, you can do an inplace repair and it will reinstall the operating system and leave the applications intact. I've done that many times as well.

use System Restore ^WRONG^ The least invasive solution would be to update the driver. A system restore would probably not actually help the problem.

Without having information about exactly what caused it to crash or how you define crash I can't say with certainty it will recover. One thing to note is computers automatically set restore points so if for some reason everything is gone when you reboot you can go to system restore and set it back to a time before the crash. That may help recover data.
