I'm sorry if my answer seems a bit amateur, as I'm only a high school student (Though I have skipped 2 year levels and am an A+ 95%+ student).

Well, I have been successful quite a bit with my schooling, but I think it is just because I have a good memory, I didn't study extremely hard.

Anyway, for every person, there are different study methods that they will find suitable. Some will like it visual (Brainstorming, diagrams), or some like it in an information way (lists, orders).

For myself, I find lists etcetera to be of the best way to remember things e.g. Category A contains this, this, this, this and this, Category B has this etc... Or This thing do this etc...

Also, I tend to find differences and similarities between things, so I remember them better (How are they different? How are they similar?)

I don't know if I'm giving you the best advice, I am an Australian Year 11 student, you could be a University student. I think it would be better for you to specify what study for what you are talking about. Then I could better answer your question.

For example, I do different study methods for different subjects. But, my tendency is to study a subject, fill myself in with the information I have learnt after school, 3 or 4 times a week, so that I am confident that I am up to date with every thing. Then, when an exam approaches, I will write a unit/chapter summary of what I need to know, and since I would already have remembered most of it, I would easily be able to fill in the holes in my memory, instead of relearning all that material. Basically, I am confident with most of the work, and just have to remember the hard parts.

I do this mostly with Japanese, History, Geography, Science etc...

Subjects like Maths require frequent study and practice. It is not that hard to learn rules in maths, but you should practise often, so that you are confident that you have certain methods for solving certain problems, and so that you are quicker.

English requires much analysis for the books you study. I outline the key points in a novel, and do practice essays to fulfil my understanding of a certain novel's plot twists and themes.

I hope these methods will help you with your work, but due to my insufficient knowledge about what you are asking about, I can only give what I think you want to know. Ultimately, any of these methods will work in any subject, and I hope that you will find these useful for memorising everything.

Good Luck!

P.S. If you do music, and want to memorise a piece, then I myself just learn the notes, then understand the music better (dynamics, rhythm), then I find the plot twists or changes in the section of the music, then, the whole piece can come together, and I usually have a piece of music by memory quickly.
