Turn the notebook over, remove the battery and the memory cover. Get yourself a wire about 3" to 4" long (single core works well - an old ethernet core cable is what I used). Remove about 1/4" of the plastic from the wire on each end, make a small loop on one end of the cable. Remove the memory modules - under the modules there is a plastic coated label that is attached to the main board - slowly peel it back and remove it if necessary. You will see a pad at J4, you will also see a philips head screw about an inch away. Take the screw out, take the looped end of the cable and reattached the screw with the cable to the main board. Turn the notebook on its side, plug your ac adapter to the notebook (DO NOT PUT THE BATTERY IN). Using one hand to hold the ground wire (the one attached to the screw) short J4 and turn on the power - hold for a few seconds. Remove ac plug, remove grounding wire from the screw, replace the plastic label, insert the memory modules, battery, and the memory cover. Your bios password is now cleared. You will need to reset your date and time.
