Mine Resets in the Over Head Display...
I feel like I keep repeating the same thing over and over so i will try again. How do you reset the oil change indicator on a 2005 BMW X3. Thanks Rod53
Press the STATUS button on the dash, when it gets to AC filter press and hold the reset button.
1. Press the STATUS control to access the System Check function. Press RESET to reset the oil %. 2. Press and hold the RESET control to set to 100%. 3. After the successful reset, the message center will display OIL LIFE SET TO 100%. This is how I do it on my 2005 Lincoln LS.
disconnect the battery, it's located in the spare tire compartment.
Warning indicators like a charging system indicator are not something that are "reset." If you have a indicator light that is on, that is a warning light. It's telling you something is wrong, in this case, it is saying that something is wrong with the charging system. It will go out when you get the problem fixed. Likely, you have an generator that is not charging or not charging well enough. If you don't get it fixed, it could leave you stranded somewhere.
go to your Status button in the car and scroll to oil change option and hold the reset button down for 3 seconds. That simple!
Open your owner's manual. Key on, doors closed. Press "step" until "0 miles to service" is displayed. Press and hold "reset" until it resets.
